It’s come to our attention that many of you have been targeted by online scams pretending to sell Haven products. These sites use our images and video to collect orders, and either disappear outright or ship an inexpensive regular hammock.
We’ve dedicated massive amounts of time to shutting these sites down. To date, we have shut down more than 100 sites, but they just keep coming.
Facebook will remove the ads once we report them but they take no preemptive action. Each site has to be reported individually. We are working hard to stay on top of it, but there is a lot we miss so thank you for your messages and emails. Please keep sending us links to the scams as you see them!
Now here’s what you can do if you’ve been the target of a scam. You’ll want to dispute the charges with PayPal as soon as possible. Often, they’ll refund you and investigate the seller account. Like Facebook, PayPal is painfully blind to these frauds but we have heard reports of some refunds.
If the price looks too good to be true, it probably is. Lately, we have also seen knockoffs coming in from China. These knockoff tents look similar to ours, and will often use our marketing material so it's easy to think you are ordering from us.
We've spoken to a few people who unknowingly ordered a knockoff and have inspected a few ourselves. They use
inexpensive materials, lack waterproof coatings on the rainfly, the air mattresses leak, and don't deliver the flat lay people come to expect with a Haven Tent™.
Our design is patented and we have started to enforce that patent with some of the most frequent offenders. But the scammers are nothing if not persistent... We'll keep at it!
As of June 2020, you can only purchase our products from HavenTents.com and a short list of international partners. We thank you for your patience as we work to address this problem, and again we appreciate anything you guys do to help us shut these scams down.
