FAQ

What does the warranty cover?

We guarantee that our products will function as intended out of the box. If you have concerns or issues with the functionality of your gear, please let us know.
That being said, it's probably easier to tell you what our warranty does not cover instead and let you fill in the gaps yourselves. The following are NOT covered under our warranty:
  • Regular wear-and-tear
  • Improper use, including exceeding the maximum weight capacity
  • Cosmetic, non-structural, or non-functional damage
  • Any modifications
Avoid using duct-tape or other materials that can leave a residue on the tent as doing so may void your warranty.
 
*Even if you don't plan on using your Haven Tent within one year of purchase, please make sure to at least test it before the warranty expires. We are not responsible for damaged or defective items after one-year of your purchase.

How do I qualify for a return?

If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, return your item(s) within 60 days of receipt for a refund. Please review the policies below before you initiate your return to ensure your items qualify for a refund:

Item Condition

Items must be returned in new or like-new condition to qualify for a refund. Conditions that would not qualify for a full refund include (but are not limited to):
  • Dirt, grass, or sun stains are clearly visible
  • Fabric smells like campfire smoke
  • Residue is present from duct-tape or other adhesives
  • Items that have been modified in any way from the way it was originally received
  • Items that are marked as "Final Sale" (such as Haven Seconds).

If your return is sent back to us that does not meet the above requirements, you may incur a fee. See the "Nitty Gritty" section for more details.

How do I start a return or exchange?

Have your Order # and delivery zip code used to place your order ready. It can be found in your order history, packing slip, or purchase confirmation email. Then follow these steps:

  • Go to our return portal
  • Insert your order number (found on your order confirmation email)
  • Insert the zip code your order was delivered to
  • Choose the items you want to return or exchange and follow the directions on the screen

Once we receive your return request, we'll review it and if approved, we will send you a return shipping label that you will need to print and attach to the outside of your package. Then, simply drop it off at the nearest drop-off location.

Once we receive your return, we will perform a quick inspection and then notify you that we have processed your refund. If you opted for a refund, it will be credited back to your original payment method within 1-3 business days of processing your return. Processing time may vary during peak times of the year. Learn more under "Refund Timeline" below.

Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

How do exchanges work?

If you are wanting to swap your Haven Tent for a different size or model, we are happy to help out. To do so, start a return within 60 days of receipt. Our return portal will allow you to choose what item you would like to exchange it for and, if applicable, allow you to pay the difference. There are two ways to exchange your gear:

  1. Standard Exchange: After your return has been dropped off and scanned at the post office or drop off location, a new order with your new item will be automatically placed and shipped out within 1 business day.
  2. Instant Exchange (most popular): If you want your new items sooner, you can enter your credit card information and we will place a temporary hold on your account when you submit your exchange. An order with your new items will be placed instantly and shipped within 1 business day. Make sure you return your original items as soon as possible so that that hold is removed from your card and you aren't charged.to You have 28 days from submission to return your items to avoid being charged.

What the heck is a "Backyard Demo"?

  • We are so confident in our design that we offer a "backyard demo". Try your Haven Tent in the backyard. If you don't like the lay, send it back for a full refund. Make sure that when you purchase your tent, to include "Try Risk Free - Free Returns and Shipping Protection" so you aren't charged to send it back. It's that easy.

    To qualify for the Backyard Demo full refund, make sure there is no:

    • Obvious wear
    • Exposure to campfire smoke
    • Pet hair in the hammock

    Other return requests are evaluated case by case. To initiate a return, please submit a Return Authorization Request.

Is the return policy different for items shipped by other brands?

If you purchase something from our website that is shipped from a company other than us, that item is subject to the return policy of the vendor. These items include (but are not limited to):

  • Zenbivy Bed, Compression caps, Dry Sack, and SoftTop Pillow
  • Reyr Gear Fly Rods
  • Bare Bones XL Hammock Hitch Mount

One Tough Tent!

To show you just how tough the Haven Tent is, we did a stress test on the Haven Tent and Haven Safari. The Haven Tent held over 1,000 pounds and the Safari held 2,260 pounds!

The Nitty-Gritty

Deductions

Any of the following components that are not included with the return of a tent will incur a $2.00 deduction per item (not set of items) if not included with the return:

    • Spreader Bars (x2)
    • Carabiners (x2)
    • Tree straps (x2)
    • Guylines (x4)
    • Stakes (x4)

If you forget to ship an item that is supposed to be included with your return, you will be required to either accept the deduction, or ship back the remaining items paying for your own postage. If you need to ship something that you forgot in your original return, please package it up in a suitable box or envelope and address it to:

Please include a note in your return that includes your name, order number, and the reason for your return so our team knows what to do when we recieve it.

If your gear is returned smelling of obvious campfire smoke, you will incur a deduction from your refund as follows:

 

  • Tents that have an obvious campfire smell will incur a $30 deduction applied to their overall refund
  • Pads that have an obvious campfire smell will incur a $20 deduction applied to their overall refund

 

Refund Timeframe

We aim to process all returns within no more than 15 days of receipt at our warehouse. In the event that 15 days pass from the time that we receive your return (as defined by your tracking number), you will be automatically refunded the full amount (less any applicable return shipping fees) and your return will be closed.
