Set-Up Guide

Getting Started:

  1. Choose healthy, living trees and inspect above for any dead branches that may fall.
  2. Wrap the straps around each tree, passing the end through the loop. Position the head side strap slightly higher than the foot side.

Setting Up the Hammock:

  1. Clip the hammock body to the straps, ensuring a tight ridgeline.
  2. Insert the spreader bars into the bar pockets located on the support arcs on the head and foot end of each side of the tent to open up the sleeping platform.
  3. Carefully place the air mattress inside, inflating it as much as possible, and secure it at the four corner pockets.

Rainfly Installation:

  1. Attach the rainfly by feeding the hammock's carabiners through the rainfly's holes at each end, wrapping it around the end caps.
  2. Adjust the hang height to no more than 2 feet off the ground.

Pro Tips:

  • Hang Angle: The ridgeline should be tight for a flat lay. Pull to the highest loop you can reach without over-stressing the trees.
  • Body Position: Align your hips with the middle of the curve for optimal comfort. Adjust your position to prevent sagging.
  • Pad Adjustment: If the pad shifts, straighten it by pushing down on the edge with your elbow while lifting your weight.
  • Internal Suspension: Suspend your pack inside the tent using mini carabiners at each end of your bag for easy access and to keep gear dry.

Rainfly Setup and Tips:

  • The Haven Tent's design simplifies the rainfly setup, requiring only two connection points.
  • You can connect the rainfly to the ridgeline by rolling it up and securing it using the toggles attached to the ridgeline.
  • For flexibility, you can roll the rainfly sides up or down as needed, even from inside the tent.
  • We recommend keeping the rainfly guyed out away from the hammock body when possible to reduce condensation buildup. Learn more here.

Using the Insulated Pad with Pump Bag:

  • The carrying case for the Haven insulated pad doubles as a pump bag, connecting to the pad for easy inflation.
  • Inflate the pad inside the tent body, ensuring it's fully inflated, especially in cold conditions when the air inside might contract.

Packing Away:

  • To deflate, open the valve and roll the pad to expel air. Fold in half for a tighter roll and pack it up with the tent.

Bivvy Setup (No Trees):

  • Use trekking poles angled near the head or foot end of the hammock.
  • Find the midpoint of the guylines, clip into the carabiner, and stake down on the side away from the hammock.
  • Adjust the poles to raise the ridgeline for more space.
  • Learn more here.

Maintenance:

  • Always ensure your rainfly is secured properly, especially in strong winds or rain.
  • Utilize corner loops for guying out the fly, which helps manage condensation and provides stability in inclement weather.

Enjoy your adventure with the comfort and convenience of the Haven Tent!
