Try it at home, risk free

Set it up in your backyard, test the lay and spend a night in it. If it isn't the one for you, send it back for a full refund.

  1. Add Checkout+ in your cart

It adds Free Returns + Package Protection for a small fee, so sending it back costs you nothing and your order is covered in transit.

  2. Try it for up to 60 days

Hang it, lie in it, sleep in it. You have 60 days from delivery to decide.

  3. Not the one? Send it back

Start a return in our portal with your order number and zip code. We send you a return label, and your refund is processed within 15 days of it reaching us.

Keep it returnable

For a full refund, send it back with no obvious wear, campfire smoke or pet hair, and pack every part (missing parts are $2 each).

Want a different size? Swap it with an Instant Exchange: we ship the new one right away, and you return the original within 28 days.

Without Checkout+ you can still return within 60 days, but the return label cost comes out of your refund. Seconds and final-sale items can't be returned. Full return policy

The FIRST CAST Travel Fly Rod is built for anglers who want to fish anywhere, anytime. This 4wt, 7ft rod features a telescopic, internally lined design that sets up in just 30 seconds—always rigged and ready so you can tie on a fly and start fishing right away.

At only 16.5" collapsed and weighing 6.5 oz (full rod + reel + line), it’s made to disappear in your pack until the moment you need it. Each rod comes fully assembled (just tie on your fly) and includes a reel with swappable left/right hand retrieve.

Perfect for creeks, alpine lakes, and backcountry streams, the FIRST CAST blends tenkara-inspired simplicity with the performance of traditional fly rods—making every cast smooth, quick, and fun.

From Our Sister Brand, Reyr Gear
The FIRST CAST comes from Reyr Gear, Haven’s sister brand. Just as Haven reimagines how we sleep outside, Reyr reimagines how we fish—removing barriers so you can focus on the adventure, not the setup. Both brands share the same mission: to make the outdoors more accessible, comfortable, and fun.

Because when you’re out there, the first cast—or the first night under the stars—should only be seconds away.
