Yes! Haven tents are designed to suspend you mid-air and mirror the flatness of a regular bed.
What’s the weight capacity?
The capacity for both the standard Haven Tent and the Haven XL is 285 lb or 129 kg.
Can I use my own sleeping pad?
You can, but we don’t recommend it. Our Insulated Pad is a structural part of the lay-flat design — it fits the frame exactly, and its horizontal bevels push out against the sides so you aren’t wrapped up like a burrito. A third-party pad that doesn’t fit can slide around and keep the tent from working as intended.
Yes. The tent body carries a 4,000mm waterproof rating, and the included rainfly is rated to 4,000mm as well.

I've used the Haven for 2 years now. It is a game changer! Love it! As you see, I use it for motorcycle rides. Just got back from a week on the road and in the Haven, slept great through a rough storm last night! If you're wondering about whether to get one or not... I've got 2 words for you... do it.

This hammock fits my backyard location perfectly. I cannot wait to take full advantage of it in the fall when the wx cools.

Trip #3 still loving the Safari! Seems to get better each time. Really like the storage nets inside and the ridge light is great. The battery from the air pump seems to power the ridge light forever. Used the ridge light like a lantern right in the translucent storage bag this time. Trying different set-ups now with the extra rain fly. This was a great purchase!

After my first set up, I was able to pack the Haven XL in a way where setting it up takes less than 3 minutes. That did not include inflating the mattress. If I had gotten the portable electric pump, I could have that inflating while putting the hammock up and it would be ready before I was. Both times I have stayed out in the XL it has rained and I have stayed dry. The only water that got in was what I brought with me. My only issue so far is the zipper seems to bind up on the corner from vertical to horizontal. I try shifting my weight to see if that would help. It feels like it is skipping a tooth or something.
I like all of the pockets and the ability to hang stuff from the ridge line. Very convenient. I have not been out without the screen zipped close due to all the bugs. I hope to test the R 5.3 value of the mattress this fall and winter and I will try without the net too. Can't wait.

First time ever camping and I am so glad I chose the haven tent!

The combination of sleeping in my favorite outdoor tent ever due to it's soft and completely horizontal sleep bed along with the white noise of the waterfall behind me meant that I slept ten straight hours that night!

I've loved this tent for the past 2 years of it lasting and this was one of the first generation tents so if this is able. To last 2 years then maybe if I get another one if I have the money 💰 it might last up to 5 years so great tent but I'm bummed out that it ripped like it did.

There was a small hiccup with my first haven tent hammock. I wrote an email and my issue was VERY QUICKLY RESOLVED. Their customer service are great people to deal with. I will definitely recommend Haven Tent Hammocks to my camping friends. Thank you Haven!!!!
Leslie H.5/5Verified
Great tent that is actually the most comfortable camping experience Ive had. Because you're lying on a mattress that exactly fits the tent, the mattress pushes the tent in a flat shape. As such, you can lie flat, with the air as your cushion!
The tent is super light weight , so perfect for any trekking outdoor adventure!

4 night into the BWCA and 2 campsites total. Best nights sleep ive had in all my years in a hammock set up. 10/10 recommend to anyone considering this

Just back from a bikepacking trip, cycling from The Netherlands to Sweden, via Germany and Denmark. Setting up camp with the (standard) Haven Tent with insulated pad, was really quick and easy. And most of all, you got so many more places to camp, as it doesn't require a flat surface to pitch your tent, without the usual discomfort of a hammock. Loved it. Slept like a dog every night. Even when it rained. Would have gone for the lighter version, if it would have been available at the time of purchase. Looking forward to my next trip!

lots of room, very comfortable. I wish I had bought this system sooner. I love that it lays flat. The carabiner system is easy to set up - I have heard alot of other hammock campers complin about knot tying - there's no knots involved here!

This tent is awesome. Best sleep I've ever had camping. I also weathered two overnight downpours and stayed dry. The versatility in rainfly position was appreciated. I got the carbon fiber bars too, since I was backpacking.
Minus a star because the pad is hard to blow up. The inflate bag it comes with does not work well. I have a Nemo sleeping pad as well, the inflate bag fit and made the Haven easier to inflate. Ultimately, I took the Nemo backpacking(its a whole pound lighter). It's a bit shorter/narrower than the Haven, definitely not as firm or supportive, but it worked well enough for my week.

Absolutely great to sleep in the haven tent

Had the haven safari out for the first camping trip of the year since purchasing. It far exceeded expectations. Had an amazing nights sleep, so comfortable, it rained in the middle of the night. The rain fly worked perfectly, totally dry inside after several hours of rain. The ridge light worked flawlessly, huge hit with my fellow campers. Had several comments from people passing by the campsite asking about the set up I had and stating how cool and unique the haven tent is. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase. I am confident that the company stands behind this product should a problem arise. Here’s the thing though, it’s built so well from the start, I’m guessing the support/service team may have a lot of down time, more time to camp 😀. Thank you haven tents, awesome job!!! Incredible, high quality shelter!!

My husband has the original haven. Like when they first came out… I liked it. But, I ungraded my pad to the premium insulated. It makes almost no noise and so comfy! Stays blown up all night. Now I’m buying him a new pad like mine.

I very rarely write reviews but this one is truly needed. I recently purchased a Haven tent which had a sizing issue. In other words I received a standard size tent with a XL mattress. This was not Haven's fault as I purchased this from a private seller. Once I realized the XL mattress would not work with the standard Haven tent I tried some air mattresses that I had at home but it just didn't work out. On a whim, I decided to call Haven's customer service. I explained my dilemma to Tim and his his crew and he immediately came up with a solution. I thought I could maybe get a second mattress in standard size but he went above and beyond and told me to keep my XL mattress, send my standard tent back and he would send me an XL tent. This was by far the best customer service I have ever experienced with any company! It took a few days to get everything in the mail and my wrong size tent sent back to the company but I was extremely happy for what they did for me and how easy they made the return process. I also purchased their air pump which made life so much easier with the mattress. Not to mention a charging port and lights to boot. Money well spent. I haven't had the opportunity to camp yet with the new setup, but it has been set up in the yard and took a few naps. I must say it is more comfortable sleeping than in my travel trailer. Ease of setup, the integration of the entire system, and the quality will definitely make me a future customer as I am watching closely for their new Kickstarter to come online with a new product. Thank you Haven tents for your outstanding customer service.

Love the hammock. I have slept in it twice at home in the rain with 5*C temps and it was like sleeping on a cloud, more comfortable than my bed, and totally dry. I had to make a stand for it as I don’t have any trees in my yard strong enough to hold me. Two mods I made: I sewed loops onto the top fly toggles so it can be rolled up on itself leaving the bug screen and top strap unimpeded. Also I glued self adhesive Velcro onto both sides of the mat in the centre to stop it from sliding sideways when getting in and being lopsided. I am going to add small s-carabiners to the guy ropes to make it faster and easier to attach to the fly .

I bought the XL back in November for a trip to the Amazon in Ecuador. A week before I left I contacted Customer service and told them I needed the Powerpack. They sent it out to me right away. Best Customer service I've dealt with. There was three of us that went. All in hammocks for sleeping. I was the only one with a Haven. I was also the only one that got some good sleep. I'm a side and stomach sleeper and this hammock was great for that. The Powerpack, lights, whoopie cords and hammock all worked great. I'm so happy I went with the Haven.

We'd never slept so soundly outdoors until we tried these amazing tents. Huge thanks to Derek and the entire Haven Tents family for providing such incredible comfort and quality sleep in the wild.

I usually don't leave reviews before I've had ample time to try a product out, but I wanted to talk on Haven's customer service. Had a few issues, the Haven team responded within an hour on new years eve, and the issue was resolved within a few emails. They were very understanding and cordial
It's amazing customer service like that which creates a loyal customer base, and is becoming a rare thing to find.
As for the tent: got my first 30 degree night down with it, and I absolutely love the versatility of the shelter. Time will tell on build quality, but there was no exaggeration on the comfort of this system. It's pictured with my aquaquest 10x10 tarp, but the Haven tarp has been ordered to get the full experience of the system.
Looking forward to many more nights with this tent and again, very appreciative of the great customer support

We purchased the tents for a trip to Toronto on our boat for USCG inspection! There was 5 of us and after one night of over indulgence everyone was snoring! I retreated to my H(e)aven and it was the best night of my life! Thank you for an incredible product!

I’m new to hammock camping. With that said I’ve tried a few hammocks and didn’t like how I’d sink in either foot end or head end. Tossing or even moving was tricky. Now I’ve spent the past 13 years sleeping in the dirt because I was ex infantry. So sleeping is always up most in my mind. I looked at the Haven tent for the past 2 years before pulling the trigger and purchasing it. It worked as advertised. I slept AMAZING!!! I could move freely and from side to side because I sleep best on my side. I never slumped or even had side pain. It held up great!!!! My wife and daughter were very jealous of my new set up “hahahaha” both tried it and WANT their own! I couldn’t be more happy with this purchase! I plan on continuing my business with HavenTent in the future for my family to all own their own slice of HAVEN lol.

I got my Haven tent at the end of June, and by the middle of July, I had spent a weekend camping and 4000 km of motorcycle riding, sleeping in it every night. Very easy setup that was easier and quicker each time I did it. Except for my last night of the bike trip, setting it up after dark in rocky mountain forest using whoopie slings. It sagged a bit too low and a sharp stick punctured my air mattress.
I've patched it up and it's good as new, but at 5'10" and 195 lbs, the base model was a bit tight for space for me, so I've upgraded to the XL now. The kids will be happy to use the old one camping, if they can stop fighting over who gets to sleep in it first!

I bought this hammock for a trip to the Wind Rivers and I have never slept so good camping. It was amazing. I also love the build in bug net and rain fly. We had rain for 2 days and everything stayed dry.
Adam N.5/5
Liked it the first few hangs, now the air mattress leaks and folds up in the middle of the night like a taco. This should not happen to a top price piece of gear.
Ken B.3/5
I’ve had this thing for 3 years now. It’s absolutely amazing. It’s small enough to pack out on my small dual sport motorcycle. That’s a big deal with smaller bikes. This company always made it a point to advertise it may be the best sleep you get, that is 100% true. It’s even a little frustrating, as the regular bed I paid 4 times for. I’d rather sleep the Haven 300 nights out of the year, but she said I had to come back to living in the house after 2 months last autumn. I recommend this versatile and strong hammock to every one I meet. Many people have never seen such a thing, so it’s also quite a conversation starter.

The quality and installation is very simple. light and useful

I finally got a chance to sleep in my new Haven hammock. One thing I learned, I need to top off the air in the mattress right before I go to bed. The temperature dropped enough to have the mattress curling around me a bit. But I still slept flat and was able to sleep on both sides and my back. I’m not a stomach sleeper and didn’t even try, but I’m sure it would have been possible. I am petite at 5’3” 120 and have the standard size Haven. If I was much bigger, I would want the XL for more elbow room. Overall, I love this hammock and look forward to many more nights in it.
Laura H.5/5
I haven’t taken it out in the bush but I set it up on my deck and it seems to work quite well. Stitching and straps are strong. Doesn’t lay flat as a bed but definitely flatter than a traditional hammock. Seems I can lay on my side with it with no problems.
